"Hi, I'm Candy. My full name is 'Candy Cane Morris', because I joined the
family at Christmas, '85. I was only about six weeks old when some
people abandoned me and my 23 brothers, sisters, half-brothers and
half-sisters in the middle of a big neighborhood.
We were all cold and scared, so we ran up to all the houses
and started scratching at the doors and crying. I ended up at the
Morris house.
"At first they named me 'Noel', but every time they called me I thought they were saying, 'No!' so they changed my name to Candy Cane. They mostly call me 'Candy'. Rachel is my favorite human, because she feeds me junk food and lets me sleep on her bed.
"I'm getting old now, so I'm blind in one eye and a little deaf. At least I pretend to be deaf. A lot of times I just ignore my humans when they call me, especially if they want to give me a bath. Since I'm the oldest dog in the house, I can do almost anything I want without getting in trouble. Puppet and Rusty both get mad about that, but I don't care. I was here first."
