Three Stories in One Book...

Bear Attack
Sixteen-year-old Boy Scout Jason Francois of Douglas, Arizona was awakened by screams during a camping outing, and found twelve-year-out Scout Tait Holbrook of Tucson, Arizona in the jaws of a bear. Telling Tait to play dead, Jason confronted the animal bare-handed, then administered first aid to the injured camper.

See exciting video clip from Jason's story (Episode #108) on the

Blanco River Rescue
Fourteen-year-old John Ruiz of San Antonio, Texas was fishing with his father when a whirlpool tipped their inflatable raft and left the older man trapped in underwater debris. John held his head above water and worked with a passerby to free his dad and pull him to safety.

Tornado
Twelve-year-old friends Adam DeSutter and Tim Boe of Plainfield, Illinois had just arrived at the high school to watch their brothers at football practice when a monster tornado roared through the neighborhood, ripping off the roof above their heads and leveling the school.

A CRY IN THE NIGHT

The camp grew quiet. For some reason, Jason wasn't sleepy. He was still reading when he heard another noise outside. It sounded like his bear visitor from the other night. He waited, marking its movements by the snapping of twigs. Like before, it snuffled at his tent and then kept going. Soon the camp was silent once again.
Five minutes later, Jason was about to click off his flashlight when he heard a high-pitched scream outside. It sounded like Tait or Brandon.
At first he thought the staff had sneaked back to scare them. Sleeping outside like that, they were easy targets. But this time, the shrieks didn't end in giggles.
"Help me! Please help me!" someone cried again.
Still half-convinced it was a joke, Jason jumped up and slipped into his shoes. He kept his flashlight in hand.
"Jason, help me!" It was Tait.
