WET 'N WILD

A hard, foamy wave started toward Melissa. She tensed, waiting for just the right moment to jump. She liked trying to time it just right.
Closer...closer...now!
With a happy squeal, she kicked off from the sandy ocean bottom. But at that very instant, something razor sharp clamped down on her right leg. The wave slammed into her, filling her mouth and nose with salty water. She was still sputtering when something jerked her all the way under.
The first shock left her frozen, unable to move or even think. With a water-choked scream, she clawed at the sand, then pushed up from the bottom with a mighty heave. Her face barely broke the surface.
"Help!" she shrieked. Panicked, she peered down through the water-- then shrieked again.
A huge shark had her right leg clamped in its jaws!
